CONTENT

These workshops will provide recruitment leaders, consultants, HR professionals, talent acquisition teams and business leaders with practical tools, frameworks and real-world examples to help align recruitment and onboarding activities with wider organisational sustainability and ESG objectives.

Participants will leave with actionable steps they can immediately implement within their recruitment processes, alongside a deeper understanding of how sustainable recruitment practices can strengthen employer brand, improve candidate experience, support client ESG goals, reduce unnecessary costs and contribute to a culture of sustainability.

 

WORKSHOP 1

Sustainable Recruitment Fundamentals: Aligning Recruitment with ESG and Organisational Sustainability Goals

Learn how sustainability is reshaping recruitment and discover practical ways to build more responsible, future-focused hiring practices.

 

This session explores the business case for sustainable recruitment, key industry trends, and the Sustainable Recruitment Alliance Ireland (SRAI) Framework. Participants will learn how to benchmark current practices, set meaningful sustainability goals, measure recruitment impact, and identify opportunities for improvement.

    • – Introduction to the Sustainable Recruitment Alliance Ireland (SRAI)

    • – The SRAI Sustainable Recruitment Framework & Assessment Tool

    • – Measuring recruitment-related environmental impact

    • – Sustainable hiring and ESG-aligned recruitment practices

Move beyond theory and learn how to embed sustainability throughout the entire recruitment lifecycle.

This practical session explores how recruitment teams can align hiring activities with ESG goals, from workforce planning and candidate attraction through to onboarding and employee engagement. Participants will gain actionable insights, proven best practices, and a framework for developing a sustainable recruitment action plan.

About the trainer:

Andrew Sheehan is the Founder of the Sustainable Recruitment Alliance Ireland (SRAI) and SustainabilityExamples.com. Through the SRAI, Andrew helps organisations embed sustainability best practices into their talent strategies and workplace culture.

Before launching his own ventures, Andrew spent seven years in the recruitment industry, where he developed and implemented a corporate sustainability strategy that delivered both environmental and commercial results. He later created the Sustainable Recruitment Framework and Assessment Tool to help employers align recruitment with their ESG objectives.

Andrew holds a postgraduate qualification in Corporate Sustainability & ESG Strategy from TU Dublin, has judged the GradIreland Recruitment Awards since 2019 including their new category “Sustainability in early talent recruitment since its inception in 2022, and was recently named Newstalk’s Green Business Person of the Month in 2026.
