I am delighted to handover to Barbara McGrath as the new President of the ERF. Huge strides have been made in our profession over the past few years as we have some come out of a very turbulent recession. I am proud of the contribution the ERF has made and hopefully everyone can see the benefit that the Federation plays for all our members – a few highlights:
Education programme
We now have over 350 certified recruiters, so we are bring a professionalism to the recruiter with qualifications.
Events
16 events this year, including the largest ever conference and awards ceremony as well as breakfast briefings, events for fellows and partnership events with Linkedin and Taxback, great events to network and learn.
Communication
We now have a quarterly newsletter, a brand new interactive website and we are about to launch a pulse survey to give snapshot updates on the profession, this is alongside regular press in the national newspapers.
Financial Stability
Huge work has been done to put the us back in the black which has meant we have not had to ask the members for more over the past few years, in comparison to our colleagues across Europe the federation fee is great value for money
Policy
We have just released our first Policy paper titled “Ireland Works”, please feel free to let us know your thoughts, but we are committed to being the active voice for the profession with more regular thought pieces on our profession and the impact we can have on it.
Legislative support
We have regular support papers written this year e.g. TUPE and NERA all to help members manage and protect their businesses
Voice in Europe
Geraldine King provides a consistent voice to Eurociett in Brussels and ensures all relevant impacting legislation is brought back to the Irish committee.
I hope you agree that a huge amount is being done by a hardworking committee. It has been an honour to be the President and I hope I am leaving the Federation in a very strong position to continue to grow and prosper and represent the profession with integrity, professionalism and with the needs of the members at the forefront of their mind.
Thank you,
Peter
